A person with a PhD in just about any field has huge potential.
A PhD shows to anyone that you are capable of dealing with lots of information, sifting through it, and using it. The fact that someone has gotten that far in education means they are fairly smart.
Biology has a number of potential positions. The most obvious is that of a teacher. From there you go on to things like research and development or theoretical work.
