Well I just got my SAT scores, and got 520 in reading and 530 in math. My writing was very low at 450 but PITT doesn't look at writing.
-On college board, it says the middle 50% SAT scores for PITT were between 560-660.

My GPA for my junior year(final average) was 3.83, with my more difficult classes-physics, pre-calculus, statistics, and the other regular classes.

No after-school activities, but I do have some part-time job experience.

I'll be applying for a more regular type of major, nothing in medical, or engineering.

I am thinking of getting a degree in genetics... my father is very opposed to this, saying that it will not get me very far career-wise. I need some opinions on this, such as what kind of jobs I could potentially get with this degree, the salary for such a job etc. Also, know of any good colleges/universities with good genetics programs? Thanks!

I've been thinking lately that all these commercials on TV for community/technical colleges mean that the tuition expense is more because the college has to pay for all this advertising. Is this correct? Anyone know how much a semester costs at Minnesota school of business globe college (around 12 credits)? The only was is to call, but the last time I talked to them, before I asked the cost, I could tell he/she was trying to sell.

so this summer, i`m going to be a junior next school year, i was planning on joining volunteer groups and stuff like that. Will colleges think that by joinging now is too late? like i know colleges look at what you join buti don't want them to think that i joined just to beef up my resume last minute . Would joining now show that, is it too late?

Maybe an out a limb question, but I went to a college in indianapolis that boasted on placing 92% of the computer students in computer jobs in 6 months. Well I started and had all sorts of issues the RA always busting into your place at 1 a.m. saying you were drinking, someone broke into my dorm and they did nothing to them, but the worst. out of the 23 students in the computer program. They placed 3 two of which were fired because of what the placement dept. said to the prospective employers. I am not math wiz but 3 out of 23 is not 92%. I do not much care because I am fine. I just want prospective students to not have to deal with something like this. Also when we would try to apply to jobs they would be like that is way out of your league you should expect to make between 7-9 per hour?? just to clarify I graduated with a 3.9 gpa. They also said credits are transferable to many schools in Indiana, but in fact only one school in the nation transfers them. What can I do if anything?

University of Phoenix is more convenient but more expensive. Someone I know is in UP, second year and drowning in debt plus struggling to pay for classes every several weeks. It's too late to stop now cuz of all the debt. So..just want to know if this effort will all be worth it in the end? in comparison to other highly recognized state universities?

will science become a benign word again... only when it adopts an ethical cautionary principle, for all the inventions it seeks to release into the world?

or will science always hide behind the skirts of busines & industry claiming..."it isnt us you should blame...its them - we only discovered and invented.....they are the ones who are applying our science and causing the damage".

I'm not talking about double-majoring I mean two different unrelated majors at one time in your undergrad year.

I have a friend who is 18 years old who dropped out because people called her fat && she got interested in this boy so she spent all her time when she should of been at school with him. She was supposed to get a GED but she never got around to it. Her boyfriend dumped her and moved so she said she would go back to school. Well the school she chose to go back to is an alternative to high school which teaches stuff at a lower level then normal high schools and she had to attend a meeting last week to get back into the school. She chose to skip the meeting to hang out with a friend. She wants to go to college to become a cosmetologist but I'm afraid she won't get past high school because right now shes 18 (19 in January) in 10th grade and is showing no interest in making something out of herself and more of an interest in drugs and clubbing, so my question is how should I make her care more about her education?

I have applied for this Radiology Tech Aide positon at a local hospital. They're always hiring for different shifts... and I apply at all of them because its really important for me to gain some experiences...sicne Im going to school for Radiography.. I know its competitive etc.. but come on they listed "no experiences required" I have called them and they gave me the "competitive speech" .. I did ask if there was anything I was missing.. they said no. I am certified with CPR and GXMO.... I thought they were EOE.
or at least thats what they listed.. Im not giving up because this is important to me... Have any of you experience this before with any employer..??

I am making 200 - 600 dollars per day at my job. I like the job too. Why should I go to college? I would probobly just get into debt and get a lower wage once I got my degree.
