I want to know if it is really worth all the money and how many points on average it increases your score. Any suggestions on how to get the most of the course?

The real answer is, it depends. Best thing to do is a self assessment - buy a book, do a few practice sessions, then take an actual test under test conditions. Best to buy the computer CD and take it online. Once you've taken a real test (or two) examine your scores.

The Kaplan is designed to give you test-taking techniques. So if you get in the 500's, most likely learning tricks and techniques and practicing them extensively will bring your score up. You could reasonably expect to gain 30-70 points, maybe even 100, simply by applying the best test-taking methods.

If you get lower than this, you have to rethink the whole GMAT. If you cannot break 500 on your own, the harsh truth is that it will be very hard for you to master the techniques with or without the course. However, even here, the course will help somewhat.

On the other hand, if you get in the mid 600's, chances are test taking techniques will not help that much. The techniques are designed to help the average and above-average test taker. If you are already in the top tier range, the best thing to do is get the "Kaplan 800" and practice on your own. You will probably come up with your own methods and tricks after extended exposure to the hardest material, which is the only way you will expand on an already high score.

what's maximum needed is your instructor. attempt to take a seat in on a type and/or talk with the instructor earlier you sign up. I certainly have considered human beings get super outcomes with each and every of the attempt prep businesses. even nevertheless, i visit declare that in particular Kaplan looks to rank decrease on the record. i might probable opt for Princeton evaluation over Kaplan - yet i've got considered human beings tank the GMAT after the Princeton evaluation course besides. So i think of your suitable wager is unquestionably taking a seem on the instructor. some suggestions for attempt prep: Kaplan Princeton evaluation enormous apple GMAT Your community college/persevering with training application (i understand somebody who complete super outcomes with the help of going to a type provided at an area college) Bellcurves particularly some community tutors/instructors (Atlanta - Emory supplies a type of their nighttime at Emory application, l. a. - Charles Trent) Veritas

If your problem is test anxiety, taking a course like this (and Kaplan is a reputable one) can help, because you know what to expect going into the test, which can reduce the anxiety. If you expect to learn "facts" which will appear on the GMAT, you will be disappointed. The GMAT is supposed to be a test of aptitude, not achievement.

They teach strategies on how to attack the test. The test is supposed to be everything you learned up to the 10th grade. I would use a lot of study time, as the test is a mental challenge written to exhaust you.
