i know this girl in college and she a friend of mine but she really likes to rub in that her gpa is 3.8. i tell her of course it is because look at her major. she is a sociology major with a minor in pyschology. those are two of the easiest majors and of course by being in those classes it will INFLATE one's gpa, so what are some other easy majors. i would have to vote for sociology, pysch, eng lit, and anything liberal arts in general

I want to major in Psych. and be able to take the MCAT. However there are many science courses i need to take as prerequisites for med-school. So do I choose my courses in high school according to psychology or all the other sciences too? Because they require different prerequisites.

I'll be graduating in December with a B.S. in Geology and I know that I want to go to grad school, but I'm feeling burned out. I've been in college straight through since Fall '02, working full time in the summer, and I'm tired. If I take some time off, get a job, travel, whatever, will that hurt my chances of getting into grad school later? I'm worried that if I go while I feel burned out, I won't do well, but if I wait maybe I won't get in and/or I'll forget everything I've learned thus far.

Advice? :-)

How's the college life, I mean is it really that hard? Some make it sound like torture, while others make it sound like heaven. What's the deal? How does it work? Is there a real truth? My friend that goes to A&M said she does have a lot of work, but she still has time with her friends and goes to some parties here and there. it sounds some what impossible...

I have one A.A. in Liberal Studies and one in A.S. Legal Assisting. I really want a job, besides legal assisting, with a lot of responsiblities. I've been finding that most of the jobs that catch my interest require Bachelor degrees, thus I am looking for an answer to my question. Thanks!!!!

Maybe I'm missing the obvious answer here, but oh well.

I am a high school senior, and I am enrolled in Post-Secondary Enrollment Options(which means I take free college classes through the local college, supplied by the state)

For my actual college applications..Am I applying as a transfer student, or as a high school student?

I have one High School class, and 18 college credit hours per semester.

I see this question has been asked a few times, but I am still not sure. I just read an article where someone who was 45 went back to junior college (because they couldnt afford a university) and after two years with a degree in CAD(?), is now making 100k? Is that possible? Is there any other high paying 2 year learning program type jobs anyone could suggest? Thanks.

My mom has her masters degree and has been looking for a job in el paso texas. I live away from her, because I live in Missouri and I keep telling her to go look for a job in other cities and states. She doesnt want to leave my sister there in el paso texas because my little sister is still in high school and should be graduating in 3 years. My dad is retired and so now my mom wants to support the family. Where could my mom find a job in the usa with that degree? Do you think she should move out of el paso cause in el paso texas they dont have a lot of job openings. Not unless you are in the medical field or teaching field.

They would rather hire a Master Degreed Person for the same money/price as the bachelor degreed person? If so, that is scary. Why would they do that? Has the Bachelor degree lost it's luster/monetary value because too many Adam and Eve have them?

Ok, I have a ton of questions and hopefully you can help me with at least a few of them. What is the average cost of a college freshman's 1st year? Can an adult male (32 yrs) get financial aid? If you have your GED, and no SAT scores, what test will you have to take if any? and can you get exempt from it, and how? What courses should you take? How long does it take to get 90 college hours? Can you do most classes online, or just certain ones? What all is required to get admitted into college? What do you basically have to do to get into college?? LOL...I know these are a lot of questions. I dont expect answers to all of them, but I am freaking out trying to get my husband some help about getting into college. I am so lost trying to figure out all of this. I went to cosmetology school at my local junior college right out of high school in 2002 and never had to do all the things he is having to do. Thanks for all the info, and any extra tips you can give me would be great!! God Bless!

I need to get 90 college hours as soon as possible. I have heard that it can take from 2-3 years to get these. Is there any way to get them quicker? If you go to school Fall, Summer I, Summer II and Spring semesters, can you get them faster? Also, are you allowed to go to both summer semesters? Or do they lap over one another? I know these may be dumb questions, but I dont know a lot about the whole college thing. Another thing too, are some courses worth more hours than others?? I dont have any prior college experience, so I couldn't start out in anything to advanced. But, what courses I take doesn't matter. I just have to have 90 college hours to be able to apply for a great job opportunity that is coming my way in the future. If I could have the hours in two years or less it would be perfect!! What classes do you think that I should take? Thanks for all your help! Have a great day!! God Bless!

I will be a senior in High School this coming Fall 07 and obviously, it's time to start applying for colleges. I am definitely sure I want to become a pharmacist, and Purdue is on the top of my list. However, I'm not sure if I can get into the college. My GPA is 3.75 and I work like 20 hours a week for my parents so I don't really have any community service. My ACT score is. I was wondering if I should apply to Purdue and complete the prePharm coursework there and then take my chances with their College of Pharmacy or apply Early Decision with St. Louis College of Pharmacy.

The thing is, I'm not sure if I want to waste my time doing 2 years of PrePharm coursework instead of just applying to the St. Louis College of Pharmacy where it's guaranteed that you graduate in 6 years. What should I do? If anyone is currently in Purdue's College of Pharmacy, can you give me some advice?
