I am writing an essay on a contemporary issue in nursing I have chosen falls in the elderly however Iam struggling to find a definition of contemporary.

Please help.

"Contemporary" means "at the same time as". For example, "Beethoven was Napoleon's contemporary" or "Beethoven was contemporary with Napoleon".

The word is frequently used to mean "contemporary with us". i.e now/modern/current.

Contemporary means current, or at the present time.
