I need to get 90 college hours as soon as possible. I have heard that it can take from 2-3 years to get these. Is there any way to get them quicker? If you go to school Fall, Summer I, Summer II and Spring semesters, can you get them faster? Also, are you allowed to go to both summer semesters? Or do they lap over one another? I know these may be dumb questions, but I dont know a lot about the whole college thing. Another thing too, are some courses worth more hours than others?? I dont have any prior college experience, so I couldn't start out in anything to advanced. But, what courses I take doesn't matter. I just have to have 90 college hours to be able to apply for a great job opportunity that is coming my way in the future. If I could have the hours in two years or less it would be perfect!! What classes do you think that I should take? Thanks for all your help! Have a great day!! God Bless!

I don't think this is going to happen. And I think some of these answers are wildly optimistic and unrealistic. It just isnt that easy!

For comparison, it takes about 125 hours to finish a BA or BS degree - in the USA about 2/3 of all students fail to complete 125 hours in 4 years. About 1/2 fail to finish even within 6 years. So, it's no picnic trying to get all these hours completed.

90 hours is the equivalent of three years of full time study. Even if you go full time days, take evening courses and summer school, and if all the classes are scheduled at times when you can take them, and if all the courses you want to take are available, and you pass every one without failing a single course, it would be hard to do it in two years.

Since you say you have no college experience, and apparently you havent really paid much attention to college before, it is hard to see how you would be able to handle this maximum heavy load successfully.

In any case, if you did get the 90 hours, you would still have to compete against people who had gone through real college programs. Their records would look a lot better than someone who just took 90 hours of random courses.

Why not do things right. Start at the community college, work methodically to get your AA or AS degree and then go on with a real career.... You can do this.

Good luck.

Since you will be going to college, paying for it and everything- I would suggest working towards a degree that you can use for other jobs after this. You can take up to 18 hours for Fall and Spring semesters- and yes you can take classes in bother summer semesters. But summer is short- so it's hard to take too many classes because you have very little time. It will be faster if you take classes every semester. However- don't take more than you can handle. You have to study and get decent grades so that your gpa looks good on your resume. You usually need about 124 hours to graduate with a bachelors degree. I would highly recommend taking a year to get a degree instead of focusing on one opportunity. Maybe you can take the job and go to school for your last 30 hours. Since you will be taking a lot of classes per year- you'll also have a lot of tuition and fees to pay. Make sure you have a source- apply for financial aid etc. Take easy electives (courses you can choose outside you major) because you'll have a lot of load. Apart from the electives- talk to your college advisor about which classes you need for your degree (usually 30-45 hours). Good luck!

Yes you can do this. A normal load is 15 credits per semester, so 60 credits over 2 years. How to get the other 30 credits? A lot of summer session, up to 6 credits in each summer session for 4 summer sessions will give you 24. The other 6 credits you could do either by taking an extra course (i.e. registering in 6 courses) in each of two regular sessions or doing distance learning courses. This is going to be a tremendous amount of work for you and you should not expect to do anything much else except work and you should also not be expecting high grades. But if this is what you want to do then good luck.

Yes if you go the full year fall - summer, you will get them faster. But the problem lies where will you have the time and energy? I think the most that you can take during a regular semester is 6 classes (@ 4 cr each thats 24) and then the summer most places allow 3 a semester. This ofcourse is having a semi perfect schedule without conflicts and time restraints (will you have a job?). If you don't care about the degree you get then go to a community college (cheaper).

90 college house is equivilant to an Associate's degree.... you can get that in 18 months if you carry a heavy courseload.

And go through the summers..... otherwise it's about 2 years. your best bet is to sit down with an academic advisor and discuss your goals.
