My friend that goes to A&M said she does have a lot of work, but she still has time with her friends and goes to some parties here and there. it sounds some what impossible...

I like it better than high school or work. I mean, there is stuff you have to get done, and it can be stressful sometimes, but overall you have a lot of freedom. I would suggest that you not work more than about 10 or 15 hours per week though. If you don't work more than that, you should be able to get along well enough. If you are majoring in the sciences or engineering, you may need to cut back on working even more than that when you get close to finishing. But college really isn't bad if you have discipline and do your homework. Good night!

I think whether college life is hard or not depends on many factors: which university you're going to, how proficient you are in your major (if you're bad at math, it would be a lot of work to get a physics degree), how well you can cram for tests (my friends and I do a lot of last-minute studying), your study habits/discipline, and why you're there (if you want to be there, or if you're going because it's expected). There's also a certain degree of "how far can you go on very little sleep" and "how much caffeine can you ingest in a 24 hour period without going into a coma", especially during finals week. ;-)

I would say that it is more like heaven than torture, but I've always liked learning. I've also met many good people, the best friends I've ever had, and maybe ever will have. I definitely suggest college to anyone, even if it is hard at times it's a great experience.

College life is neither good nor bad as a rule, its what you make of it.

If you find you can socialise well with people, and can handle a heavy work load, then its good. If on the other hand you are some-what a loner its becomes harder, and if you can't work at it, it also becomes nigh-on impossible, I guess you just have to know your limits, and work out when you can and can't do things.

As for difficulty, I guess it depends on what you do, and where you go... if you go to the top, and take on an imensly hard subject that you both hate and struggle at, then you are obviously going to find it hard, equally, if you go to a place that expects more average results, and take a subject that you both enjoy and find relativly easy then overall it makes life easier...

In short, theres no simple answer and its based on you as a person, and what you make of the experiance.
