I am making 200 - 600 dollars per day at my job. I like the job too. Why should I go to college? I would probobly just get into debt and get a lower wage once I got my degree.

Happiness is all that matters. It makes me feel good to learn new information. When I go to class, I can feel myself becoming a better person all around. It is difficult to explain, and it's euphoric for me.

Right now, I am a teacher, so I already have a B.S. degree in elementary education. However, I still take classes, and I am currently majoring in biology. It has nothing to do with my field, but it opens my mind.

There was a time when I didn't attend school (for about a year or so) because I just graduated. I decided to go back because I lost that feeling that I got from learning. Therefore, I think that everyone should try to take at least one class, just to try it out. If you make $200-$600 per day, it should not put you in debt. Check out how much the tuition is at your local community college. Community college tuition is not as costly as a four-year university. If you like it and continue for until you graduate (about 2 yrs. or so), you can transfer to a university to complete the remainder of your courses to earn your bachelor's degree (about 2 more yrs.). That would be four years together.

IF I CAN DO THIS ON A TEACHER'S SALARY, ANYONE CAN DO THIS! Oh, by the way, I have no debts due to the cost of my college education. If you are in excellent academic standing, you can get scholarships and/or financial aid (if it is your first bachelor's degree).

What happens to you if something happens to your job, or better yet your market? It might not happen, but its not impossible either ... over time markets change, and though you might be able to earn a substantial amount of money now that might not be the case in 20, 30, 40 years. What happens if you find yourself 50 years old, with no marketable skills and out of job? With a degree you'd still have a level of security and marketability. You certainly wouldn't be able to go back to school at that age ...

I had a 2nd cousin who had this happen to him. He never went to college because he was making a lot of money at the time. When he was 40 he lost his job, and his skills were outdated and unmarketable ... he was forced to work horrible jobs from then on just to scrape by. I can't even recall how many times he has expressed regret for not earning a degree first and then working ... he wouldn't be in the situation he is now.

Who says you have to quit your job to attend college?

College can enhance your opportunities later on. College isn't necessarily about job training. It's also about enriching your knowledge and capacity to deal with the world.

If you need to make someone in your life happy take a course or two a semester and work at it that way.

The facts are that people with college degrees on average earn about 25% more than those who do not. Those with Masters degrees earn 17% on average than those with an undergraduate degree.

It goes up from there.

Save your money. It sounds like your job is attached to your youth in some way, and I guarantee that will not last.

Maybe this isn't the time for you to go to college, but what college offers you is that it opens up options. For now, you are happy with what you have, but if you choose to make a change, or if the field changes so that it is no longer available to you, you will be just another high school graduate, and many pathways would be closed off to you without the degree. I know that I was working happily before going back for my degree, but once I realized that I would soon get bored with what I was doing, it was time to go back and pick up the education I had missed earlier.

Will your job be around in 10, 20, 30 years? Will it still pay this well? Will unskilled labor be doing it for a lot less money? Will new technologies replace you?

If you are making that kind of money and you like your job, then you don't have to go to college if you don't want to.

If you like your job and you're happy where you are and where you are going and have absolutely no academic interests, don't go to college you'll just clog up the system as another disinterested student.
