I've been thinking lately that all these commercials on TV for community/technical colleges mean that the tuition expense is more because the college has to pay for all this advertising. Is this correct? Anyone know how much a semester costs at Minnesota school of business globe college (around 12 credits)? The only was is to call, but the last time I talked to them, before I asked the cost, I could tell he/she was trying to sell.

Next time they try to "sell" you on it, just tell them you can't buy anything before you know how much it costs b/c you're poor. I do this all the time. I tell people I'm poor so it doesn't matter how well they can market it if I can't afford to buy it anyway.

Try this; "Look, I know you're trying to sell me here but I need to know the cost first. I don't have very much money"

That usually cuts to the chase. Plus it keeps them from marketing other crap to you. If they think you have limited means, they'll go easy on you.

Good luck.

These are for-profit colleges and even if they don't charge more, they put a bigger percentage of their money into advertising and less into education than do most NFPs.
