Well I just got my SAT scores, and got 520 in reading and 530 in math. My writing was very low at 450 but PITT doesn't look at writing.
-On college board, it says the middle 50% SAT scores for PITT were between 560-660.

My GPA for my junior year(final average) was 3.83, with my more difficult classes-physics, pre-calculus, statistics, and the other regular classes.

No after-school activities, but I do have some part-time job experience.

I'll be applying for a more regular type of major, nothing in medical, or engineering.

Since they gave scores for the middle 50%, you need to realize that 25% will be higher than that range and 25% will fall below it. Yours aren't horribly low, so you do stand a chance, but without after-school activities, you may not do as well as someone who does have these. It is certainly worth a try, but don't set your heart on it. And if this is really where you want to go, you can go to a community college for a couple of years, do well, and transfer.

Here is my advice to you.

- Take a prep course for the SAT and then retake the SAT.
- Continue your part-time job. This looks good and if you continue, you'll show committment.
- Take an advanced or AP class. Your GPA shows that you can. Colleges look for improvement.
- Do after-school activities.
- Do community service.
- Find something that will make you original.

With a good GPA and almost average SAT scores, your academics may be okay. However, you lack in originality. Why would a college pick you? You need to figure this out. Find something and be committed to it.

Here are activities that I am committed to. These are things that make a person "shine". You need to participate in things like this:
"Adams Ridge Volunteer, AFS, Bowling League (2002 – now), Future Teachers of America, Grand Prize Poet, Guitar Lessons, High Honor Roll, Japanese Club, Journalism Club, Key Club, Mars Library Volunteer, Perfect Attendance from 8th - 11th grade, REACH (Trained and Trainer), Red Cross Volunteer, Red Cross Trained, School Newspaper, Spanish Club, Spanish Club Reporter, Summer Discovery Program (at a college) to Spain, Sunrise Assisted Living Volunteer, Water Protection, and Yearbook."

I have taken Physics, Pre-calc, and much more difficult classes, so you need to worry about having something more to brag about than that. (I don't mean this statement in a rude way.) Yes, you need something to brag about to colleges, but THAT isn't it.

Good luck!

Retest.

They only admit 56% of applicants.

You need better scores. Study and retest.

You may get accepted as is, but better scores would definitely improve your chances.
