I've read a lot about UC Santa Cruz, and it seems like the perfect place for me to go for undergraduate school (besides Berkeley). I like the education and research institutions described in several reviews of the school.
However,I am strictly anti-drug,so my only concern is how bad the Marijuana and Hippie situation is at UC Santa Cruz. I've read that it is really bad and that a tremendous amount of people are potheads or hippies. Can someone please fill me in on the details.

{A good explanation or first hand experience of the school would be very much appreciated}

Thanks,
TGG

I'm a creative type, so I'm wondering if I would struggle in the Bus Admin program. I think it would be a better degree to get, as opposed to something like English, but I'm wondering if I would be bored, and therefore not successful in the program.

Hi, i have just enrolled in college. When i was enrolling, the lady enrolling me just asked what i was interested in studying and i said Criminal Justice (Thats what i want to major in), So she gave me Introduction to Criminal Justice, which is understandable for a freshman, and then she just gave me classes like public speaking and a few other things that i really dont know what they are. But my question is why didnt she ask me what i wanted to minor in or what subject of Criminal Justice i wanted to study (there are like 20 different subjects in criminal justice and im not interested in all of them). I'll appreciate any advice and help, Because i really dont know anything about how college works, which makes me fell kinda dumb, but thanx everyone.

I've taken the SAT and 4 SAT subject tests. On my SAT I had a 2220. My SAT subject tests were all 700+.

I wanna become an investment banker but I don't know what to major in. People tell me finance and economics but I can't find a major that has both finance and economics. Other people tell me finance economics and accounting, and I still can't find a major that all three of those.

Without a major I can't find a college that offers what I'm looking for.

What would be a good major for someone who wants to become an investment banker?

Is a CS (master degree) program of a 3 tier college better (more useful) than aunpopular major offered by a top college? I have heard that foreigners (even including Americans) who got degrees in unpopular programs from good schools(like Hardvard and others) could not survive in the US and these foreigners ended up going back to their home countries. Because I will either choose UIS's (university of Illinois at Springfield) CS Program or UIUC's Human resource development. My uncle told me dont care about the school's name ,and CS program is much more helpful for me. I am already an US citizen but my family is in China. I am looking forward to working in the US. I know life is even tougher for foreigners in the US. anybody, please give me some advice.

So, I took the SAT, and got a 1780. Is this a good SAT score, or should I consider taking it again?

Also,There are the three sections, Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Under the Writing at CollegeBoard.com there are two sub-sections, Multiple choice and Essay. Do I add those scores to the total, or not, and what's the highest to get on those?

I'm a junior right now and I'm not sure if I can get into a UC (like Riverside) because my overall GPA now is around a 3.0. I took the SAT I already and I got around a 500 which I'm really dissapointed about.

I was wondering if I should just go to a Cal State or go to a Community college then transfer to a University?

I think working for Apple would be so cool, or any other company similar to that. like being in marketing. I've wanted to be a doctor all my life but i'm exploring other options. I just have a couple questions...

1. Is business a hard major to get into?
2. Is there a lot of schooling?
3. What college has the best businness major?
4. Do they make a lot of money?
5. Does Apple hire a lot of people?

My parents are wanting to sent me to the local community college. I do not want to go simply because I am tired of living with them. I am academically eligible for many scholarships and admittance to the university i wish to pursue. I am an honors student, I have went to the college for workshops and am acquainted with the staff and the facilities very well. I will be 18 in July, right before I start college in the fall. The truck is in their name, so that could be an issue. But provided that I take care of that and support myself. Is this possible, even though it will step on a few toes? If this is possible, will anyone give me some info for grants and scholarships I can qualify for. I am Choctaw Native American and wish to pursue a degree in Medicine. Thanks

I know it is a nice school but was wondering what would be a good GPA, SAT scores, and extra curriculars to have to have a good shot.

And what is out of state tuition I know it is where you go to college outside of your state but how long do you have to be there before it is considered your home od you have to be born there?

And how much more is it?
