You'll get a fine education either place. SMC has one of the highest transfer rates of any community college and has a lot of great programs, but LACC is also a good school. (SMC does have a slightly better reputation because of its high transfer rate.)
I work at UCLA and have worked with transfer students from both schools-- they all had a good experience and came to UCLA very well prepared.
Which one is more convenient to where you live?

Santa Monica is generally considered to be one of the best community colleges nationally. LACC isn't bad, but doesn't quite measure up.

Good for you!!! Go to which ever is closest to you. They are both VERY good!! Earn good grades and make sure you contact your advisor at both the community college and the university so see which classes are transferrable. Register early, find parking spaces early and ask questions.....
GET out of there in 2 years...don't stay any longer if at all possible :)
Good luck to you! Work Hard and Climb High! CSULA has a GREAT Art Program

i'd elect SMC. If I went to LACC i'd worry approximately getting shot. properly... ok it rather is not relatively that undesirable in spite of if it relatively is a crummy area of city that i'd quite no longer cope with. SMC is plenty greater useful off.
