Heavens no! I did! I actually transferred to a new university my junior year, and to be eligible for the "independent housing," i.e. the upper level housing, I had to live in the lower level housing. So, really, I lived with freshmen until I was 23 years old!
Was it hard? Heck yeah! The freshman did what freshman do--and what I did! Drank, had meaningless relationships, made stupid mistakes, and bombed their finals. **On the other hand**, the freshman come to see me as a resource.
"I'm thinking of going into business. Well...actually...my dad wants me to go into business...I don't know what I want to do...I mean...how did you pick your major?"
"I'm seriously thinking of pledging [insert greek sorority/fraternaty here]. What's your take on them? Did you ever go greek?"
"I got offered this great job. They pay [insert here]. Problem is, it interferes with my classes. I need the money. But I can't drop the class; I'll lose my scholarship. What do I do?"
These were the questions that people couldn't come to their parents with; parents were just too judgemental. But when they realized I had been there, done that, got the tshirt, it was okay. They came to me becuase they realized that it was okay to say whatever and do whatever, and I wasn't gonna be like all up in their grill.
Think of this as an opportunity to model for the freshmen what happens when you do the mature thing rather than the stupid thing. The dividends are huge.

No, it's not too old. It might be a little weird if you go to a school where there's not enough housing for upperclassmen, and people expect to move out of the dorms after first or second year. But at a lot of colleges everyone lives in dorms until they graduate.

I think the issue is more: will they have space for you in the dorms? If they do, then great.

No of course not! I know a lot of guys who are older than 21 and still living in dorms..it doesn't make a difference where you live. You don't have to have some 18 year old roomate or anything, most college dorms have single rooms. I'm sure you'll meet a lot of people your age living in the dorms too.

Probably not technically - I know 40 year old grad students who got stuck living in freshman dorms for a year. But you might want to look into other options, like an apartment, since you're older and more mature than the freshmen you'll be living with.

Nope. I lived in the dorms from age 24 to 26. There will be seniors (21 years old) and grad students living in dorms. So, you will not be the only older person there.

I moved into the dorms at 25. I got along fine. I met my husband who lived across the hall. He was 35. We had several friends that lived in our dorm that was our ages and older as well as younger.

Definitely not too old. You will probably be surprised how many older students like the convenience and affordability of dorm living.

Hi Octavio. I lived in the dorms during my junior and senior years in college (when I was 21). It worked well for me.

Best wishes and good luck.

you aren't too old to live on campus. Many universities look at the demographics each resident before the place them. Since you are older they will probably try to place you with someone else that is your age. To be sure you should probably contact the school you are attending.
