How did I do? (SAT scoring)?

Question

So, I took the SAT, and got a 1780. Is this a good SAT score, or should I consider taking it again?

Also,There are the three sections, Critical Reading, Math, and Writing. Under the Writing at CollegeBoard.com there are two sub-sections, Multiple choice and Essay. Do I add those scores to the total, or not, and what's the highest to get on those?

So, I think I actually got an 1850. Yeah. Okay, 1850, how's that?

Tenn Gal is not reading the scores correctly. The first column is the percentage out of 1600 (critical reading and math only), and the second column is the percentage out of 2400 (critical reading, math, and writing. It looks like you are somewhere in the mid-80% level. That's good (avg. would be 1500), but not outstanding. You will get into a lot of colleges, but if you are trying for something extremely competitive, you may need to retake.

No, the total number they gave you(say 580) is your score. You do not add on the points for your essay, they did that for you.

The highest you could get on the essay was a 12, the highest points for Writing you could get is 800
