I've taken the SAT and 4 SAT subject tests. On my SAT I had a 2220. My SAT subject tests were all 700+.

I wanna become an investment banker but I don't know what to major in. People tell me finance and economics but I can't find a major that has both finance and economics. Other people tell me finance economics and accounting, and I still can't find a major that all three of those.

Without a major I can't find a college that offers what I'm looking for.

What would be a good major for someone who wants to become an investment banker?

Yes -- finance and economics.

Finance is usually taught in the Business School. It is considered a subfield of economics -- so any course in finance is also an economics class. Not all universities have a B-School, though. Those that do not usually offer one or two finance classes through their economics classes. Economics is usually taught both in the B-School and through the Econ department.

Take a few accounting courses -- but too much is not good for the soul. Do not major in accounting if you want to be an investment banker.

Take lots of Math -- I mean LOTS of Math. It will be more useful than any of the other stuff.

"Without a major I can't find a college that offers what I'm looking for."

If you're trying to become an investment banker, you have those steps mixed up. The first thing you need to do is get into a college with a NAME BRAND business school - Harvard, Stanford, Penn, Northwestern, etc. I-banking firms are the best of the best and they recruit from places that they perceive are the best.

Any of these prestigious schools will have an undergraduate business school as well. Get into these undergrad programs and become top of your class. Intern for large corporations or finance firms during the summer. Trade stocks on your own time and show that you are good at making money. Do all of this and you will have a good shot. But most importantly, go to a PRESTIGIOUS school and DO WELL there.

Hi there No - it is not possible to be an investment banker at 17. Most firms only accept the highest rated graduates from best undergrad and post-grad programs. This is not fair - but this is the way it is done. So - you had better do well enough in high school to get into an Ivy League school and pray your parents can pay for it. If you can not get into a top program for undergrad - you had better target an MBA at one of the top 6 schools for post-grad. BTW.. here is an easy check on where you are right now - are you the top of your class... by quite a bit?? Did you skip any grades? If not - concentrate on doing well for the next few years

Financing is like investing. Economics is a very broad topic all together. While getting a Finance degree, you have to take economics classes.

So, that is my suggestion, I would go to a big school that has a lot of that in there, like a school somewhere on the East coast or Chicago has a quadry of schools, or even, god fobid, Delaware...home of Visa and a gazillion other credit companies and banks are based out of...Delaware.

Major in economics with an option of finance. Talk to college counselor. You can minor in either econ or accounting
