Higher Education (University +) - February 2007

I have all A's in 5 of my classes but a C+ in one of my classes. The class that I got a C+ was an honors course. I'm really worried because overall my GPA is a 3.7, but I have a C+ in one of my classes. Are they going to make a huge deal out of it? This was only the first semester and I'm planning to bring that honors course up into an A next semester. Also I'm not trying to get into a very competitive college or anything. I'm freaking out right now because I never had a C in any of my classes before.

I didn't know that I had to wait for my schools to be processed before I could take them off. I was stupid enough not to have the one due first included in the first six that I sent. Since I will miss the deadline by a couple of days, what can I do? What should I do?

I am a female grad student and I switched schools to get away from a horrid professor. Even though I complained to the dept chair at the old school nothing was done. So I left. Now this professor feels he has the upper hand I guess, so he is bad mouthing me in the profession, at conferences, and to his (and my) colleagues. People seem to be intimidated by him. He is self-serving man who feeds on the energy of the young that surround him. Filled with envy and hatred, he has nothing to lose by causing scandal and gossip--in fact, he seems to court it. How shall I proceed?

I live in Chicago, but my dad went to school in South Carolina, so we go on vacation there every summer (since I was born). It feels like a second home to me even though it is so different than Chicago/ the Midwest. I visited it over the summer, and FELL IN LOVE!!

The university of kansas is a great school, and is closer to home. It is also very pretty, and offers some of the same southern charm as USC.

I am really leaning towards USC but I don't know!!

Please help!!

I have to write an Evaluation Essay. If anyone's not familiar with that, it means that I have to write an essay explaining why something is the way it is. It's similar to an argumentive essay except there are both positive and negative facts in an evaluation essay.

The examples in our book gives an essay on why chinese restaurants are becoming one of the best places to dine out at. However, I want to do something more broader. My friend has a great one, and her topic is "Everything Old is New Again."

I really wish I could have thought of that, but does anyone have any phenomenon or just a topic that they think would work well for an Evaluation Essay? Thx in advance.

I have no clue what to do next summer...I don't want to return to my family. I want to stay free from their controlling clutches. It would be pointless to go back, there's nothing there for me anyways. I guess I could just rent an apartment every summer?

I have not taken any Ap courses as of yet because my school only offers them in Bio, Calculus, Us History, Art, and Spanish. I am scheduling my course for next year as a junior. Would I have a better chance of getting into those colleges if I take those class instead of two honors classes (Anatomy and Justice-probably take 1 or 2 of them in senior year) I aslo will be taking Cal Ap and English AP in my senior year?
