I have all A's in 5 of my classes but a C+ in one of my classes. The class that I got a C+ was an honors course. I'm really worried because overall my GPA is a 3.7, but I have a C+ in one of my classes. Are they going to make a huge deal out of it? This was only the first semester and I'm planning to bring that honors course up into an A next semester. Also I'm not trying to get into a very competitive college or anything. I'm freaking out right now because I never had a C in any of my classes before.

You're fine.

They'll check to see if your A's are in junk classes, but they look at the overall GPA first.

One C+ won't kill you. Particularly since you don't seem to be applying to Harvard or anything.

Relax I have the same situation. The colleges will look at your GPA first, and then they might take a look at overall grades. I have a 3.8 but I can always bring it up. breathe...you'll be absolutely fine...with your grades you'll go far. Of course it also always depends on the college...however really tough colleges just require 3.5 and up.

Actually they look at your whole career in highschool. Including your weighted GPA, unweighted GPA, wether u've taken any AP courses, ur extra curicular activites as one whole lump. They usuallu look at the class by the year.
