I live in Chicago, but my dad went to school in South Carolina, so we go on vacation there every summer (since I was born). It feels like a second home to me even though it is so different than Chicago/ the Midwest. I visited it over the summer, and FELL IN LOVE!!

The university of kansas is a great school, and is closer to home. It is also very pretty, and offers some of the same southern charm as USC.

I am really leaning towards USC but I don't know!!

Please help!!

What do you want to study, major in? Any idea where your passion is pulling you to? This is probably the most important factor to weigh in, what school will offer you the academic curriculum you want. Class size, professors, proximity to home (transportation costs to and from home), tuition costs, university size, financial aid? If you're in love with South Carolina, then go w/the love.

It's really a personal choice. Once you've determined they both provide the quality of education you desire at an expense you're comfortable with then it comes down to esoterics. Climate, Kansas can be pretty brutal during the winter, but since you're from Chicago that may not be a big consideration. South Carolina has a much milder climate but there are hurricanes to be concerned with. Make a list of the pros and cons of both areas before you make your final decision.

It's not like Kansas is right next door from Chicago. Go to USC. You fell in love. It fits you. If you're happy, you'll have more success.
