I'm originally from Aussie, but this year I have to make a thanksgiving dinner for my husband's parents and family. I'm a vegetarian, and kinda a health-nut, so is there any way that i can do this thing without the poor bird and all the fat? I looked at some American cook books, but EVERYTHING is loaded with butter or meat. I need some help here. Please.......

I know it depends on the restaurant. In general, I tip 15%. But what about buffets? you get your own food, sometimes even your own drink, so all they do is clear the table. Also, at nice restaurants, like $100/couple, $15 just seems like too much money. Then there are the places where you order at the counter, yet they still have a little tip jar. For what, just taking my order and doing your job? Just seems to me that asking for tips has gotten out of control and people who work as waiters should not be making more than $20 an hour. Another guy one here says he used to make $3-5 tips per pizza he delivered...c'mon, for an $8 pizza?

It's not a "special occasion" kind of place, but it's what I'm craving! Should we go somewhere else?

I worked at the one in Beverly Hills and let me tell you, I am soooo glad to be out of that place! The people that run the place are horribly rude and don't care about their employees in the slightest. The entire place seems to be covered in a cloud of negativity.

I was just curious if anyone had any similar working or dining experiences there.
