Are all U.S. restaurants required to serve pasteurized dairy products? I was at a restaurant last weekend and they said the cheese I ate was UNpasteurized. I was under the impression that this was illegal in the United States. Does anyone know?

Newburgh Packing Corporation (home of the famous "snapper" hot dogs) have closed their doors forever! My family has shopped at the cash and carry outlet on Little Britain Rd. for many years for hot dogs, burgers, steaks, cheese, and all sorts of deep fried goodies. I understand they closed for retirement. This may affect other Hudson Valley landmarks like Petes Hot Dogs in Newburgh and many small eateries and schools alike. Anyone else sad to hear the news?

A friend and I are planning a trip to Boston and would like to go out at least one night. Would prefer a place with a live band (no country or hip-hop) and cheap drinks (dive bars are ok as long as the band is good) Any suggestions on where we should go?

I plan on taking a vacation with some friends and I am treating, I do not want to carry a lot of cash on me. I don't know what to do; we are going to a furniture store to buy furniture, but I plan on having fun to. I want to take to good friends to some really nice restaurant in Dallas Texas but we don't know where, and I don't think everyone excepts out-of-town checks either. What should I do?

There is a serious problem when it comes to racial/group differences in tipping.
It is not right that servers be treated horribly and not paid for their services.
It is also not right that a member of a certain group is looked down on because of what the majority does. However many times servers get disinheartened and start to do these things.
Unfortunately these two things happen very often. The only solution I can see is a better education about proper dining etiquette and tipping to the general public of different groups of people who commonly treat servers/bartenders inappropriately.
I really think there is something that needs to be done, because this cycle does nothing to ease racial tensions, it only makes them worse. Any ideas on what could be done to educate the general population?

We met on internet, one of us comes from Wilmington, DE, the other from Allentown, PA. We're trying to meet someplace in the middle. We're trying to avoid the chain type places but will consider anything.
