I've heard that Pat's and Geno's down in the Italian section have been duking it out for a while but I also remember some place out by an entrace to some pier or bridge, I forget where it was. It might have been Sonny's but it's been a long time.

I also remember seeing some plaque in/around those resturants about some area newspaper had voted them the best so if you have a link to that that would be a real big help too.
