depends on how much you want to spend. if price is not the issue you should check out NoBu or the BlueDoor (at the Delano Hotel, 17th and Collins) both in South Beach. NoBu is japanese (it's a sister restaurant to the famous one in LA, same company) and the BlueDoor is french cusuine, but of course has some "american" dishes as well. i eat at the BD every day breakfast/lunch or lunch/dinner since december. ( becasue i work in the kitchen there) and i'm still not sick of the food.
