Well, I think its rude, but I have a toddler now. A lot of things I used to get nauseous over don't even make me blink now a days. Let's it face common courtesy and common sense are both going the way of the dinosaur and not very many people have noticed, or care.

I used to work with a woman who would ALWAYS blow her nose at the table after she was done eating even though others were not finished yet. I found it to be EXTREMELY rude and disgusting. In her case, it was not a spur of the moment need. She easily could have excused herself from the table. I understand some things happen, but for the most part, it is very rude to blow your nose at the table.
Oh, and, comparing someone in a wheelchair to someone blowing their nose at the table is ridiculous. That's not even close to the same thing. A person can control when they blow their nose (even when they sneeze - all they have to do is wipe their nose right then and walk to the restroom to finish the job). A person in a wheelchair isn't spreading their germs to the entire restaurant simply by sitting there, not to mention the fact that THEY CAN'T HELP THAT THEY ARE IN A WHEELCHAIR.

I definitely think it would be more appropriate to go to the restroom to blow your nose during dinner. Some may consider it rude for you to blow your nose in the dining area, especially people who dont know you. The people you are dining with might not mind but other people at the restaurant will probably be pretty mortified by it.

It is extremely rude and gross to blow your nose at the table. The appropriate etiquette would be to go to the bathroom and take care of it.

I would be disgusted.. I think if someone needs to blow his nose then he should do it in the bathroom or away from the table where everyone eats.

Yeah, but if the time it takes you to get to the bathroom is longer than the time it takes you to grab a tissue and save yourself from an embarrassing situation then you just have to suck it up (blow it out?) and deal with it.

If you can feel a sneeze coming and/or the need to blow your nose, then I would excuse myself and go to the restroom. But surprise attacks do happen, so I don't take any offense when it does.
