Newburgh Packing Corporation (home of the famous "snapper" hot dogs) have closed their doors forever! My family has shopped at the cash and carry outlet on Little Britain Rd. for many years for hot dogs, burgers, steaks, cheese, and all sorts of deep fried goodies. I understand they closed for retirement. This may affect other Hudson Valley landmarks like Petes Hot Dogs in Newburgh and many small eateries and schools alike. Anyone else sad to hear the news?

I have never had one before, but from the sounds of it, they were good. Sorry to hear that your hot dogs will be gone.

I lived in the area for ten years, I'm sad to see any business shut their doors. It's hard to compete with the big guys like Wal-Mart. Plus it's nice to here from someone who knows about Newburgh!!!

We live in an era of restaurant chains and box stores where the ambience is plastic and service is impersonal.Any time a family run business that has been open for a long time closes, it is a sad occasion.
