I of course have all my regular places I go, but I want to try some new good quality sushi that isn't unreasonably priced.

I'm a big fan of Sushi Echigo, on Santa Monica Blvd. just east of Bundy. The sushi is always fresh and of really good quality, and the price is not too expensive. They do the warm vinegary rice like Sushi Nozawa - I like it, but it tends to turn off some people I think.
