Hey Puja,

I was raised in the Midwest with East Coast parents who put Thousand Island dressing on everything (OK, not everything!) So I got used to the taste. 1000 isn't available everyplace, but alot of places do have Mayo as well as Ketchup, so it's my poor mans 1000 island.

On the Beer thing: NOPE! In Europe they fully understand the consequences of a DUI -- while we in the USA still lead the world in per-capita arrests for DUI. We already have many places where we can get booze! Also remember, McD's appeals to more adults in Europe than here in the USA -- So here it's still very much a Kids eating place. I think that them not being around booze for a majority of their meals is a good thing!

I used to work in a restaurant in California, and had a handfull of people ask for mayo with their fries during those 2 years.

and YES! I also miss a good brew at the fast food places, that is why I don't go there here in the US, only when I'm in Europe.

I like it.

I sometimes mix my mayo and ketchup though, ketchup is too salty and mayo is too sweet, they even each other out.

I also like to dip my fries in my Wendy's frosty. Again, the sweet and salty mixture.

Also try mustard on your pretzles, and dip your plain chips in ketchup (they ARE just potatoes...)

As for the beer... I'm glad that they don't serve beer in McDonalds. I don't want to sound like a prude because I indulge myself in a little alcohol from time to time, but there are enough drunken idiots in America without the fast food chain assisting. Drive-thru.... not a great idea.

Hello!!!! I loved the fries in Belgium and Holland! The mayo, the spicy peanut sauce, who can resist? Yes I do wish Macdo served beer and wine, what a treat?

I have always done that, I started with tarter sauce, but now it's just mayo, I hate ketchup so it wasn't much of of a choice. It also has to be real mayo, not Miracle whip. Of course it is a treat now since it is so fattening, I don't drink beer so I haven't thought about it's sale at McDonald's.

I like to have tater tots with both a ketchup/mayo combo. Not fries though, but i really dont like fries...

And yes, it would be nice if we could get out of the puritanical state of mind this country exists in and have beer.

I do....I also like the mayo mixed with ketchup and the fries have to be piping hot and salty. I learned this wonderful habit from my days working at "Wendy's" when I was in my late teens and in college. Wendy's fries and mayo are still the best in my book!

I haven't tried it in a while, but I used to love it. I'll get some mayonnaise next time I eat fries.

It's a pretty rare thing here - most of us love ketchup with our fries. I do like mayo on my hamburger though, yum!
