I just saw there is this WiFi phone from Vonage, and if you have the Vonage service you can buy this phone that works off of WiFi hotspots. Anyone know if this works decently? and are there many hotspots while driving down the interstate?

The only answer I received was terrible.
Using a calling card would never suffice. Is there someone out there who might be able to answer this question? Preferably someone over the age of 50.

I have tried skypeout but have the same problem as i just mentioned. Anyway around this problem. And i know that someone is home because i am talking to them on yahoo IM and telling them i just called, and they say the phone didnt ring.

Here is the situation. I live a mile from a major U.S. highway, yet I cannot get a Broadband connection. Yes it is kind of in the country, but should that actually matter? We deal with Verizon, whom does our dialup connection, but it is terrible at best. Verizon does not offer DSL for our location. Hughes net is too expensive, so that is not the answer. Am I stuck with dialup until I move? What is the best way to deal with this problem? If Verizon can't service us, does that mean other phone companies cannot?

Most lines were down at 4220 clayton Rd. Bldg. #2. I live in apmt 2-216. The vans were here on Monday and I'm still not receiving any dial tone. The police came over Thursday night to have a friend check I was O.K. they also said my phone were hooked up right since I'm able tto write e-mail and use the internet. I have many limitations and would like this problem worked on as soon as posible.Thank you for helping me with this problem.
