You could probably get a party line with the agreement of the other tenant.

You can run an extension from the hallway to your room. You can buy extension kits quite cheaply from B&Q or Homebase just make sure the length of the extension cable is sufficient to reach you room. You can easily fit this in say an hour. All you need is the kit, some small cable clips to keep the wire tidy and out of the way and a hammer. You may need a couple of screws and a driver to fit the phone coonector in your room. You will also need a telephone of course.ONE big problem..The phone in your room will have the same number as the one in the hall and your phone will ring at the same time as the other one and vice versa. Also any conversation on your phone could be listened to by anyone on the downstairs one.The other problem might be that you can only make or receive a call if the other phone is not in use. Similarly anybody else in the house could not use the hall phone if you were on it in your room.Is this at all likely to cause any friction between you and other occupants of the house. B.T. can give you a quote as to how much it would cost to have your own independat phone in your room with it's own number. It may be a bit cheaper as there is a line already to the house that is if they don't have lay another one.

If you want your own line with BT it will cost you £124.99 even if there is already a line in the house. The only way you can get around this is if you speak to whoeva already owns the other line and ask them if they would like you run an extention, this would mean you would have their number and you would obviously have to come to an agreement with them money wise. The only other option you would have is if cable is in your area as they are a little bit cheaper for installation.

I would recommend ringing BT on 0800800150, let them know the suitation and where there is already a point in the house and they will give you the easiest and hopefully cheapest solution.
Good Luck

i'm really searching ahead to this Ashes sequence and easily have not thoroughly written the Aussies off. even with the reality that England ought to enter the sequence as overwhelming favourites by way of modern form and the actual undeniable reality that the sequence is being performed in England. I reckon Chris Rogers could be incredibly a dismal horse as he's conscious the circumstances over right here extraordinarily properly. solid to work out some pleasant banter flying round between both instruments of supporters too!

At radio shack they sell a kit for $32 called "Add a jack kit". The package claims that it includes everything needed to add a phone jack in a room as long as you have an existing phone jack in the home.

Also for about $60, at the same store they sell a wireless phone jack system. You plug one piece to an existing phone jack, and the second piece into any electrical outlet in your home and it will convert the electrical outlet into a phone jack.
