Phone works on its own. B/band works on its own but when both are connected there is distortion on the phone line.

I know you are not supposed to to use a phone that is connected to the wall by a cord. But I've often wondered about the cordless phone or cell phone. So I am going to ask here and see what the responses are about it.

This is not a joke. There is a fax machine that keeps calling my number like every 2 minutes. I have the number off my caller id but 411 cannot find the number in their database. my phone company says they are not able to block the call. i tried searching on the internet but it wants me to pay 15 bux to find out information about the number. so i ask here first. anyone have any ideas?

I am worried that with the recent legal issues that Verizon has brought upon Vonage that I will be wasting my time... I don't agree with the Verizon course of action, but wonder if I should bother with switching if I'll only switch back after two months or or so.

I keep getting calls from some 0845 numbers saying that there is a messages waiting , please call a given mobile number.
I never call that number as i simply hang up.
the caller number is 0845-6021111

how can i stop these calls.
I am with Telewest ( now virgin media)

For days now we have been getting calls but when we pick up the phone the line goes dead.

This is clearly autodialling. Having now answered a call and still done a dialback I KNOW the culprit is Virgin Media who have been ringing every week since taking over NTL without fail EVEN though I keep asking them to stop as I am a night shift worker and today they woke me up THREE times before I got someone on the other end!

Could you tell me if this is an illegal practise now and if so to whom should I report it as I need to sleep and Virgin media are invading my privacy after being asked not too!!!!!
