What is the connection between area and phone number? Not area code but the first 3 digits. For example a my number could be 1-(222)-333-4444. Now, most of my neighbors and people in the area also have 333 before their last 4 digits. Is there some sort of data base where I can look up these 333 types and see what general city or area the number is from other than of course the area code? Thanks!

I see a lot of things happening in Cell Phones. Similarly, a lot of things are happening in Internet telephony. However, I am not observing any major developments taking place with Landline phones e.g. no bluetooth for landline phones. Is Landline phone becoming obsolete (or already has became so) ?

...like showing a face or picture associated with that caller.....a ringtone specific for that caller....call talk time logs......time and date on face.........huge phonebook list ability......profiles, etc. Or maybe a computer program that does all these things too, and includes a plug and play thype phone in the ubb port......Just wondering......thanks.

As of 6/14 getting rid of land line service. Maybe for 3 months, maybe for 6 months. To save the battery as much as possible, do I take battery out of land line phone or leave it in and keep it charged with phone charger plugged into electrical outlet?

I don't remember doing pirouettes while talking on the phone. Most creative answer gets the points.

How do you use *60?
Do you have to call the no#, then*60,
or wait for then to call and hang up, you pick up and hit *60?
It's a long distance number one from FL. the other in AZ. I live in NC.
it's on my landline not my cell phone.
I don' want to change my number.

I live in Canada. Was wondering if anyone had a recommendation on a desk phone (or cordless if thats even possible) that has a large clear display, can perform speed one-touch dial, speakerphone, volume control, all for cheap.

Any link recommendations? Considering the Candian dollar is practically equal to USD I'm open to any US links as well.

Thanks

I have a relative who left California after she and ex split. Her only friends have also left the state. Ex or his gf or someone keeps calling at different hours from different phones. Can you block a series of area codes on a land line? She figures if she can ax out the greater Los Angeles area, the calls will stop.

called the phone company....but (please read on), every time I call, my phone call is cut off. It did this earlier today when I was on a very important call, too.

The po-po say that it's the phone company's issue, not theirs, and that there is *nothing* they are able to do, as they have no equipment to do anything to check and find out.

ridiculous static, or distance when talking to people. The calls to my phone company would end with a "beep" (same as with the important call earlier), or distance to the point where the person I'm talking to can't hear me, then I can't hear them, and it sounds like someone's there, but there isn't. The biggest issue otherwise is the static.

help?!!!

All lines are DSL....thanks!
