I need to get a digital cordless phone and I noticed that each phone that I look at has a different ghz ranging from 1.6 ghz to 5.6 ghz. I currently have a analog cordless phone that worked fine until we went broadband with our computer - and now the phone has terrible reception and was told a digital cordless phone will fix the problem, can anyone help me by explaining what I should be looking for ?

the number I have is: (913) 248-1105. the person who called, hung-up without a word as soon as I spoke. This has been an on-going event for the past 60 days. Can never get an acknowledgement from that person, if I'm suppose to be the receipent of these calls.

Last month's phone bill doubled and I noticed a charge for long distance service. I know I didn't make ANY calls last month, so I called the phone company and was shocked to learn that they now charge for long distance whether you use it or not. Now this was a big promotion from the phone company last year that if you stayed with them, there would be no service charges for long distance (of course if calls were made, you have to pay for them). Now I'm being charged for something I don't use - I'm not a big phone user and haven't even made a call in like 10 weeks. My cable TV/Internet service is now offering a package deal where they provide TV, Internet and phoce service in a "bundle." This month's phone bill was about $31 and if I went with the cable service, my bill would increase by $39.95, but they claim to have unlimited calling. I wanted to know the advantages and disadvantages of either staying with my current phone company or switching to cable phone service. Thanks!

I've had my landline number since 1996...should I cancel and use only my cell phone?

My home phone bill is ridiculously expensive with long distance, caller id, etc.

I don't want to do something I'll be sorry for. I have a teenager in the home, also a preteen....

Just had digital (cable line) phone hooked up and need to buy a really good quality home phone with answering machine.
Need at least two additional handsets.
Is the clarity better with digital?
Thanks for all answers.

I was just curious - why the numeric pads on PC and the keyboard on calculators are a total opposite of the phones? I mean, in one #1 is on the bottom, and in the second one #2 is on the top? Sometimes when I work too long with a numeric pad I have to find the numbers on my phone. Can we ever have it similar so it is not confusing? Thank you for all your input.
