the number I have is: (913) 248-1105. the person who called, hung-up without a word as soon as I spoke. This has been an on-going event for the past 60 days. Can never get an acknowledgement from that person, if I'm suppose to be the receipent of these calls.

The number is for the "Publisher's Renewal Information Line". I guess they think you ordered magazines/books from them in the past. The number is a land line (not a cell) in Shawnee, KS.

The message on their voicemail says if you have seen their number on your caller ID and want more info to call: 800-255-2557.
If you have placed an order in the last 24 hours, you should call: 800-456-6565. Mon-Thur 9a-6p and Fri 9a-3p, Central Standard Time.

You can register on the national do-not call list at this link: http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/tcpa.html

Good luck.

The "Locator" says that is from Shawnee Kansas which is near Johnson Drive and I-35 in Kansas in Kansas City metro area. I had this exact same problem once and it was an autodialer that just kept calling my number and hanging up. I called the phone company and vigouriously complained and eventually, about 2 weeks, they were able to stop the calls. I called the number and it IS a autodialer from publishers renewal services. It say to call 18002552557 if that number appeared on the caller ID. Sounds like scam to me.

Seems like a good reason to get call block if they offer it on your phone service and if you can afford it.

Besides goole and ask, you can check the initial index/information sections of any phone book.

There was no listing in anywho.com - so it's either unlisted or maybe it's a cell.
