Any company wil do an equally well job of making the phone. keep in mind 3 features when picking your phone tought.
1)the lower the Mhz the better the phone sounds from further away
2)the more battery power you have the longer you can talk without charging.
3)the higher the Mhz on your phone the more security you will have when talking
Personaly im a big fan of Panasonic and Sony. Either comany will pay off in the long run. Also note that 2400 Mhz (2.4Ghz) is a really bad frequency to pcik do to inreferance from other items like microwave or WiFi so stay away from them.

I recommend any and all Panasonics.
I've had an OLD Panasonic cordless (this was BEFORE 900 MHz came along). That phone STILL WORKS today, and has incredible range for its days. Since then I've tried Vtech, GE, etc. Vtech I got claims to be 2.4 GHz, but has more static than my old Panasonic, and the battery won't hold a charge after 2 months. Dumped it in the trash and got the GE. That lasted a bit longer, but the 5-key stopped working after 1 yr, and research shows it's a common problem. Went back to Panasonic after that.

I think that you can buy a beetel set because these days it's services is good and have variety of models too and it comes from Bharti the airtel company. Panasonic is good but now days i can to advice to buy them because many china made instruments are coming branded as Panasonic and many stores if give you the original Panasonic then they don't give you it's bill , nope , go for a beetel.

I have just purchased one and it is an OPTICOM. It cost £50.00 for a two instrument set.It has an uninterrupted range of 330 yards and an interrupted range of around 50 yards. 100 memory phone book and many other gimmicky features like different ring tones. It has a built in answerphone which works very well. Bought from ARGOS and it is good value for money.
