I've heard alot of people complaining about other's out there having a computer system or program or something that can let them be the first one calling in to win phone contests. Is this possible? I never thought it was, but who knows with advances in technology today. Plus there have people out there doing the mass computer voting for like American Idol and stuff. Are people just paranoid or is it going on?

I'm on Vonage and really like it. I run my entire business on it. Will it be closed down by Verizon's lawsuit?

I'm looking online for a phone. Not a cell phone, a regular phone. Needs these three qualities:

1. Doesn't plug into the wall with a power cord. (So, it just draws power from the phone line only.)

2. Has a callerid indicator.

3. Black.

whoever gives me a url to a phone like that first wins!

I have lost the instructions that came with my extention cable for attaching to the BT Linebox and my wiring has come away from the linebox. Does anybody know what each of the 4 wire colours goes to which connection number of the linebox. One of the extentions is coloured WHITE; GREEN; BLUE & RED. The other extention appears to have the same colouring as the six-wire BT cable but only has 4. I am assuming that it will be like-for-like in that instance. On a different tack, anybody know where I could get the wiring tool to do the re-connections?

I am just sitting here staring around the room and I just saw "900MHZ" on my home phone. What does that mean?? Is it the dial tone or what?

1. There was a storm last night.
2. The phone line is not busy
3. It appears to external callers the line is busy
4. The DSL internet connection is working fine
5. One phone is dead and the other one has no tone (you only hear a buzzzzzz and ocassionally a beep that sounds like a heart-rate monitor, unlike any phone tone I have ever heard).
6. The phone company says the line is fine (I called from a payphone).

The important part is that the DSL internet connection is working.

What's wrong? If the problem is with the wiring inside the house, then how come the DSL internet connection (which works through the same company that provides our phone service) is working?

For one reason or another my phone doesnt have a dial tone. Everything is connected correctly and I can't figure out what's wrong.

These things might help:

Someone said my phone just kept ringing and didnt go to the answering machine.
I recently got AT&T Yahoo DSL installed. So I'm thinking maybe it has something to do with my internet connetion?
