I just bought a Canon Rebel XTi, my first SLR camera. I took my kids to the beach in the evening for a photo shoot. The sun was going down so the light was low. I used the Canon 28-135mm lens on Auto focus and in regular mode. I took lots of pictures and when I loaded them on the computer they looked great however when I print them out, you can see the pixels. They are not out of focus. I have tried reducing noise in Photoshop, sharpening them, using filters. Nothing works. I want to figure out what happened so I don't repeat. I don't know much about f/stops but maybe I had this set wrong. The camera automatically figured out the ISO setting.

I am thinking about getting a digital slr camera for professional photography. Mainly for sel-portraits, animals and nature. What is the cheapest digital SLR i could get that would work really well? And if you know of any places that finance with bad credit, websites please. I am thinking of a canon rebel, but again I need some opinions. Thank you. Also, I'd say I am an amatuer who is wanting to go pro.

I would like to know if someone has this camcorder and if so, is the quality pretty good? Maybe you dont own one, but you know about it, or can recommend a good one for making videos on an international trip, and for nice photos? Please, any info is needed, thanks!

I know this answer sounds dumb or may seem obvious to some(duh! get the 12 megapixel) lol. What I really want to know is if a 12 megapixel is just TOO CLEAR? Will it show a darn pimple on your face or a piece of broccoli in your teeth?!! LOL I mean I love clear pics, but im looking for something with great quality that wont show every little detail on my face or if something is stuck between my teeth LOL

Or AM I JUST OVERREACTING? Is a 12 megapixel not really that bad?

Thanks!!

paid 200 for camera and 50 for case.

I just bought a Canon Rebel XTi and I'm already craving a new lens. With Christmas fast approaching I'm looking for gift ideas and what a better thing to ask for then a lens for my new toy. However I am quite unfamiliar with lenses and I need some help. I was looking around tonight and came to the realization that I picked a pricey hobby. I'd love to gain enough skill to be worthy of an expensive lens but for now I just want something that allow me to get closer to my subject without literally stepping forward! I am looking for something under 300$ that will give me the ability to take macro shots and have more "zoomage" (if you will) then the 18-55mm lens I have right now. Any ideas, reccomendations etc. would be great! Thanks so much!

The LCD viewfinder is out of focus, even though the camera is set to autofocus. The pictures I take are also out of focus. Do I have a setting that is incorrect?

I heard that going for a good non SLR digital camera has benefits over an SLR version.

I've been looking at the Canon Powershot S5 IS in particular compared to the nearest equivalent SLR version.

What are the pros and cons for both?

I'm moving up from a cheap Vivitar 3.3 mega pix 'point and shoot' with x3 zoom with video, which I find rather rubbish for sharpness etc... I think my first ever childhood Kodak instamatic took and my Time UFO shaped web-cam and a 4x zoom 1.something meg pix phone camera take way more focused pics than the Vivtar has ever done. anyway

Please answer in simple beginner terminology, as not up with tech terms to well as yet, although not new to photography.

Thanks in advance
