I'm interested in photography, and I'll admit that I'm a bit too embarrassed to be carrying those huge professional camera (I was aiming for the Canon EOS 350D or 400D) because of my age (Don't you think it's weird for a 14 year old to be carrying such cameras?)

Anyways, I was hoping if anyone could recommend any small digital camera (I prefer Sony; eg. of the size camera and my current camera model: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Sony/sony_dscw50.asp).
I want to take action photos (jumping in the air, etc.) so a Sony camera with quick shutter?

It's a bit off topic, but most people I know have a Canon, but what Sony camera model would you recommend (and I mean those huge professional kind)?

Thank you in advance!

What is the real difference between the Nikon D40 and the Canon Rebel XTi???
My question isn't "which should I get", but more like...
plain, what is the difference?
What does one have that the other one might not, and what is that specific thing useful for??

i bought a digital camera a few days ago, and have tried and tested it, and it's fair to say i HATE it. the pics it takes are awful, and the flash is really really bright which means everything comes out looking so much whiter than it really is.

there is no fault with the camera and i'm hoping to take it back at exhange or get my money back ( i bought it from asda). do you know if it would be possible to do this. i still have all the packaging, manuals, everything that was included and there is no marks/damages to it. the only thing being that the box has been opened.

dont wanna humiliate myself by trying to return it tomorrow if they wont take it back and give me my money.

any ideas? thanks!

I've had the worst luck with digital cameras, I think its mostly because I keep trying kodak.. I have prom, graduation, & family reunions coming up & want to make sure I have a reliable camera that can take really nice pictures.

I don't exactly want to waste my money here but it seems to me you get what you pay for, anybody agree or disagree?

I'm not completely clueless to technology or anything I just want to get this right for once & not have to fiddle around anymore.
--So please enlighten me on what camera and brands you would recommend and what you wouldn't?

Hello.... I bought a Sony A100 DSLR camera for my wife for Christmas. I am sure the manual is pretty extensive, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any good online courses or classroom courses in the Chicagoland area that I could enroll her in to help her get acclimated with using a DSLR camera. All of her photo experience has been with point and shoot cameras.

I'm planning to buy a new camera but not sure what to buy. I would like a dSLR but I can only afford entry-levels like the Nikon D40. I'm just wondering if it is worth it to invest on an entry-level dSLR or just buy a zoom camera like the Canon S3 or S5 IS?
If i buy a Nikon D40, i would have to settle on the kit lens for I can't afford a zoom lens or any other lens. On the other hand, I can have a high-zoom lens and save some money if I go for the Canon S3 or S5 IS for it cost less than the Nikon D40.
I've already read some reviews regarding those cameras and I already have an idea on what both can do. Actually I'm already to inclined to buy the Nikon D40, but I'm not too satisfied with the kit lens and at the same time I don't have extra bucks to immediately upgrade it.

I just bought a new sony cybershot dscw80 and i noticed that my pictures are coming out with a yellowish tint. the camera is brand new and i bought it because of the many good reviews people gave it. i cant figure out if the problem is with the camera or the lighting of the place i take it. i have tried taking it at two different spots so far and in both, there IS a yellowish tint.. any suggestions?
should i return it or is there a way i can fix this...

I can't figure out how to get the pics from my digital camera on to my computer. I've got the little card in my computer, but it won't do anything. I thought it would start up by itself but it hasn't. is there any way to force it? thanks for any help.

Does the Sony Cyber-Shot digital camera come with a memory stick? I'm thinking of buying one as a Christmas gift but I don't know if I also need to buy a memory stick for it or if one comes with the camera. I would like him to be able to use it to take pictures on Christmas Day. Thank you.
