Does the Sony Cyber-Shot digital camera come with a memory stick? I'm thinking of buying one as a Christmas gift but I don't know if I also need to buy a memory stick for it or if one comes with the camera. I would like him to be able to use it to take pictures on Christmas Day. Thank you.

Is the Sony Cyber-Shot a good camera? I'm also looking at the Canon Power-Shot. Which one is better? Or another one all together?

almost all cameras i bought came with a small sized memory card.. held about 20ish pictures. i bought 5 cameras. 1 Casio Exilim EX-M2, 1 Sony T1 and 3 Canons SD400 SD1000 SD900.

when you buy the camera.. my suggestion is to buy a larger memory stick, 1GB is good but the more the better.. hate to run out of space during the most important moment. Also to charge the battery day before. out of the box, battery is most likely to be half gone.

Cyber-Shots are pretty good, but i myself like the Canon better.

It Depends On The Model/Year. MOST New Models Have Some Built-In (Internal) Memory So, They Don't Come With a Memory Stick. Sony Has Many Excellent Models. One Of The Reasons I Like Them Is That Many Of The Models Offer A Video w/Audio That's T.V. Quality (640x480 @ 30fps) So I Have A Video Camera As Well As Still Pictures. Canon Models Are Good Too But, You Often Pay More For The Same Features, However The Still Picture Quality Is Better Than Most Overall. (Not Necessarily SHARPER Just Brighter, Better Color Balance, Contrast Etc.)

The Sony DSC W55 Is A Nice Camera It Does Have Some Built-In Memory (56 MB) But Not Enough For Christmas Pictures, Unless You Use The Lowest Resolutions. I Would Get A Memory Stick. For About $20.00 You Could Get A 512 MB Stick That Would Take Over 100 Pictures At The Highest Resolution.

I have a Sony Cyber-Shot camera that I purchased about 2 years ago. It came with a memory stick that held about 20 pictures. I purchased a larger memory stick with mine.

I just bought a Sony Cybershot 7.2 MP model at the end of Sept and it did not come with the memory card no. I think they had different ones though. Maybe you better call or check the future shop website just in case.

Chances are you'll have to buy one. Ask salesman. My Sony CyberShot I bought Nov'06 did not come with one.
PS In additional details: what model numbers?

Have you tried looking into card adapters? If you're computer doesn't have the slot you need, its a little box with a cord that hooks to your computer with all the little slots you need. Good luck!
