thanks.

I had a Canon and took it to the Arctic...(and the temperature was roughly in the teens and twenties) but the camera quit working as a result of the cold. Is this possible with the Nikon if I am going to be in the snow taking pics and possibly during a spell where the temperature gets down to about 15 degrees F.?

Hello there. I have inherited a Minolta X-700 35mm SLR from my father. The camera works great, but I really want to upgrade to a digital SLR. I have more than 6 lenses and I just need to know is there any way that I can use them on newer SLRs? If so, which ones and/or would I need an adapter? Any extra information is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i just bought a canon EOS 3000 SLR and it has a sigma lens, i haven't shot with it yet, but I was wondering if they are good quality. I also have a macro sigma lens that came with it. Should I upgrade lenses? I recetnly had a pentax k1000 with an orginal lens that i loved, are they similar at all?

I was thinking one of the following. Preferable under $400. Canon lens only (no third party), I don't need IS, and I'm shooting landscapes, people, etc. Nothing too specialized.

Canon EF 28-105mm f/3.5-4.5 II USM
Canon EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 II USM
Canon EF 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5 USM

Are there any other lenses that might be good??

I know Digital camaras use vast amounts of batterys, but mine seems to even use them up when its not switched on.
A pair of fully charged 2200 mAH lasts about 24 hours sitting on the shelf.
Any Idea's apart from buying a new camara
