Most newer auto focus lenses will fit onto the newer digital SLR bodies.

Pentax and Nikon DSLRs will accommodate just about any lens ever made for their film predecessors.

They will not use all the automatic exposure modes and of course if they were originally a manual focus lens, then they will still only manual focus.

However a good lens optically can still produce stunning results.

Sony purchased Minolta's DSLR business and is now marketing cameras under the Sony Alpha name. So these Sony cameras will also use the Minolta lenses. Note that since the digital sensor isn't the same size as a frame of 35mm film, that your two lenses will take more telephoto shots on a digital camera. Your 100-200mm lens will give a 35mm equivalent focal length of 160-320mm. And your 50mm lens will become an 80mm equivalent lens on a digital camera.

In some cases. The Pentax screw-mount lenses will work on all Pentax and new Sony SLR's making the latter an interesting choice since millions of those lenses exist. No other brand has this degree of backwards compatibility.

Some old Canon lenses will work with their new DSLR's, but in most other cases, no. The lens will either not fit mechanically, or, if it does, features such as auto-focus will not work (eg, Nikon).

All Pentax K-mount lenses made since 1975 will mount to the Pentax K100D Super or K10D. An adapter for the screw mount lenses to K-mount would be required.

The Sony A100 & A700 will accept any Minolta Maxxum AF lens made since 1985. An adapter for screw mount lenses to the Sony (Minolta) A-mount should be available. An adapter for the older Minolta MC/MD (bayonet) mount lenses to the A-mount is available.

Unfortunately, mvbirdo really doesn't have a clue about what lens mounts on what body.
