They are available at camera shops everywhere. Go in and tell them what you are looking for.
The memory for the K1000 comes in canisters, though, and it is only usable one time, so you have to keep buying more and more memory as soon as you fill it up. You can get this memory in canisters that hold either 12, 24 or 36 images. Most people choose 24 images.
Another disadvantage to this kind of memory is that it will not let you change the ISO "on the fly," so choose your ISO speed carefully to suit the circumstances. Most people find ISO 200 to be the most useful, but some consider ISO as almost universal with this type of memory.
The major disadvantage to this kind of memory is that you can not view the images immediately. (The K1000 doesn't have an LCD anyhow...) You have to wait anywhere from one hour to overnight to see if your pictures came out the way you wanted them to.
If there is not a camera store near you, go to the photo department of any drug store, WalMart, etc., and they can help you. Take your camera with you, as the K1000 is kind of an old model and the young clerks at these places might now know its specifications without seeing it in person.
If your girlfriend has a Pentax K100D, she can get an SD memory card "anywhere," like camera stores or photo departments in other stores. Look for a 1 GB Sandisk or Lexar card rated at at least 60X write speed.
Good luck.

I hope you don't mean this camera:

If it is this one, she is lying (and I advise you break up with her [lol]). This is a film camera.
On a more serious note, did you make a typo? The K1000 was made many years ago.

no longer common question yet thrilling... i might fairly lose my reminiscence. the flexibility to experience enables you to realize for the 2nd concern in spite of the sentiments. i do no longer prefer to stay with purely suggestions its like a action picture that performs persistently, solid concern if its a satisfied reminiscence yet what if the undesirable ones are saved -- feels like being punished ordinary :-)
