You shouldn't be laughing at all. You bought the camera a week ago, then dropped it in water. Whether it was a cup, a bath or a swimming pool, makes no difference...because the camera has well and truly snuffed it. In other words, it's dead!

You will need to buy a new camera. In future, I suggest you make sure to keep your camera away from anything remotely resembling or containing moisture of any kind...or buy a waterproof camera (Olympus has several models available).
It might be your safest option.

good luck...

Sugar is the killer of cameras and people. the two get clogged up once you upload sugar. heavily, there in all probability isn't plenty you're able to do. If it replaced into an costly digital camera you may attempt to have it repaired yet that could desire to have been completed earlier it dried out. One tip is to attempt to place slightly straightforward water in to rinse it out and then enable it dry back. it fairly is a final hotel and in all probability won't artwork. precise now you have nother to lose. additionally, pass on eBay and you're arranged to locate the precise comparable digital camera and form. Gravity and water are the leading killers of digital cameras. Yours is now usable as a paperweight.
Any repairs will be at your expense and likely cost more than a new camera.

Enjoy shopping for your new camera. I suggest the Olympus Stylus 720 SW which is waterproof and shock resistant.

Connection between your camera and the LCD corroded. You can send it back to manufacturer for repair (get RMA # first, expect to pay for repair, they will give you quote before repairing). If you have some "accident protection plan" you can get it repaired for free. If you don't have such plan and the camera worths less than $150 it cheaper to get a new one.

Next time you drop your camera or cellphone in water, remove the battery as soon as possible because electrical current makes it corrode much faster.
