I'm interested in photography, and I'll admit that I'm a bit too embarrassed to be carrying those huge professional camera (I was aiming for the Canon EOS 350D or 400D) because of my age (Don't you think it's weird for a 14 year old to be carrying such cameras?)

Anyways, I was hoping if anyone could recommend any small digital camera (I prefer Sony; eg. of the size camera and my current camera model: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Sony/sony_dscw50.asp).
I want to take action photos (jumping in the air, etc.) so a Sony camera with quick shutter?

It's a bit off topic, but most people I know have a Canon, but what Sony camera model would you recommend (and I mean those huge professional kind)?

Thank you in advance!

There is no reason for you to feel "embarassed" by carrying a DSLR.

Now I'm going to suggest a camera that I believe offers a lot for the money - and its not a Canon or Nikon. Its the Pentax K100D Super, a 6.1mp DSLR with Image Stabilization in the camera body. It also has a dust removal system to keep your sensor clean. This camera also accepts every K-mount lens made since 1975.

You can read a review of it at shutterbug.com - just type 'pentax k100d' in the Search box.

Good luck and welcome to the fascinating, frustrating world of photography.
