By asking the questions you've asked, IMO you are not ready to take wedding photos unless you're just taking them for fun. You certainly aren't ready to charge people money.

Edwin is right : taking wedding pictures is certainly the most difficult challenge for a professionnal. It's extremely hard to deal with the black and white dresses !
You can take pictures for fun, but you don't seem to have the level for a professionnal work...
Then, to answer the question, the best ones for that work are Fuji's S5pro and Nikon's D300.
On the lower end, a Canon digital rebel xti can do the work but forget everything below that...
Don't forget a good external flash !

Since you didn't specify a price range... get the new Nikon D3. It's revolutionary. It shoots around 9 frames per second and it's also a full frame camera which is awesome.
Anything over 6MP will give you good prints at 8x10. The more megapixels, the larger your prints can be. Also, the more megapixels, the more you can crop your photos and still retain enough data to print quality. And also still, the more megapixels you cram onto a small sensor, the more image noise you will have. This is another advantage of the full frame sensor on the D3.
I think it's $5000 without a lens.
Have fun!

D3 is a very good choice. I just got mine and it is truly a revolutionary camera. In the first 8 hours I took two wonderful shots that I never could have made on any previous DSLR.
I would recommend the Fuji S5 Pro however. It is based on the Nikon D200 body, however its sensor and electronics are best-of-breed for rendering flesh tones, and wedding photography is all about flesh tone.
