I've been looking everywhere to find out what this Tripod is called...I don't even know if it's a Tripod persay, so if someone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. It's what this lady is using in the picture below hooked up to her camcorder.

It's a handle that obviously helps you keep the camera steady...but what's it CALLED? I'd really like to buy one.

I have a jvc mini dv camcorder. I have trouble uploading video content onto my computer. Can someone tell me how to do it using a usb 2.0 cable and windows movie maker/image mixer 2.0. Or can you recomend free software for video editing, or one that is not too expensive?

We are thinking of buying a new camcorder and have been so bamboozled with technical details that we do not know which sort to buy!

We are assuming that the HDD is probably the best but cannot really afford that much so we were wondering what everybody else would reccomend

When I turn it on the LCD flashes and the screen never turns on. It just keeps flashing. But it still takes pictures. When I plug it into the USB cable connected to my computer, my computer doesn't show that it is there, but when I take the SD card out and put it into another camera, the pictures I took are there. So it works; I just can't see what I'm taking a picture of. Worth fixing or should I just buy a new camera?

In almost all big screen films and several programs/documentaries there is a "polished" look to the type of filming quality, where the lighting is more low and the movement of everything seems to be more slow and very 'under control', unlike filming in home movies, or with the use of a regular camcorder.
Is it the type of camera that achieves this 'polished' effect or is it the editing program used? My friend mentioned that it was the camera...with the use of a 3colour card. I'm not sure what this is and would like second or other opinions. Please be quite clarifying in ur response because I would really like to know about this in detail. Thank u in advance.

I got a really old Panasonic Palmcorder XL and would love to transfer the VHSC to the Mini DV from the JVC Digital Video Camcorder.

I try to transfer the VHSC from Panasonic Palmcorder XL to the computer but there is no slot or ways that I can do that unless I do the old fasion way.

I don't even have a VCR anymore...is there a way I can just transfer it from Panasonic Camcorder to the JVC Camcorder?

I have a whole bunch of tapes and my camcorder is not working. I would like to put the videos I have onto VHS or even DVD if possible, but need to be able to view them. I know that there isn't an adapter, one of those VHS tapes that you just slip the camcorder tape into-those don't work. ...is there any way at all? aside from buying a new one....

Is there an affordable camcorder that will record for longer periods of time? If so what kind? I don't know anything about the different types of camcorders.....Would one that recorded on a dvd or vhs tape record longer? My husband and I have been noticing suspicious things around our house and we thought we would hide a camcorder to see what was going on. We figured a camcorder would be cheaper and easier to operate than security cameras plus we could also use it on trips and at get togethers and stuff....Thanks for your help!!

[[Different question this time]]

My boyfriend and I went on vacation and we recorded the trip on his grandmas video camera. The camera records movies on cassettes, not vcr cassette, but tape player cassettes. What I am wondering is, is it possible to make a copy of that, on like...a cd so I can watch it on my computer and edit it on my computer? Or how do I transfer the movie to my computer? How can I do this?
