I've just bought a sony dcr-hc24e camcorder. I'm trying to transfer the film I've shot onto my pc. Using the software provided, one minute's worth of recording equals about 350mb so I don't have a big enough hard drive to transfer a full 60 minute tape! Any advice?

i recently uploaded a video i made from my jvc mini dv camera and when i save it and go to edit it, the sound is all off. can someone please tell my why this is happening and what setting i should be saving my movies in so they come out properly

Unfortunately this camera was all that I can afford right now. This particular model doesn't have S-Video, only the yellow and white colored jacks to hook up to the television. I thought there might be some type of conversion jacks available. My other thought was if I could hook the camera to the TV and then use the S-Video from the TV to S-Video jack in my laptop. I know these are probably ridiculous ideas but I'm desperate AND ignorant about this stuff. Please help if you can! Thanks, in advance.

Ok so i bought the proper firewire card and pin cord and i am able to capture my videos in programs like windows movie maker. but i do not know who to upload previous movies that i recorded on my camera already. Can someone please tell me how to do this. Also does anyone know of any good editing programs i can use to edit my videos once they are uploaded. Thanks.

So when I first bought my camcorder about 6 years ago it came with a program for computers. Well that was 6 years ago and I no longer have the disc, but want to be able to use it with the computer, I've tried hooking it up with the USB and the computer did not recognize it. I also tried hooking it up with the rcs on the front panel of the computer no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm assuming that I need to install something on the computer so that it recognizes the camcorder but have no idea where to look. The computer is a gateway gm5420 running vista home premium.

it is not detecting any removable disk like that(like digicams).
i have a winows xp desktop. no firewire nothing.
so is ther neway of copying from the canon camcorder to computer?i connected to the usb->its saying that "the usb connected to it malfunctioned" smthg like that.

Hi, we just had a play at our school and someone there recorded it w/ a viedo camera. They then took it home and burned it to a dvd. They gave the dvd to me so i could use idvd to make a menu and stuff. I put it into my computer and its in 2 folders (VIDEO_RM and VIDEO_TS) in these folders there are icons that look like blank pieces of paper. The names of these icons all end in things like: .BUP; .IFO; .VOB does any one know how i can put these in imovie?

I have a jvc miniDV camcorder that I love. The problem is I wanted to edit the movies on my computer. I don't know how to get miniDV onto a computer. I don't think my computer has a firewire port because it's a thin laptop. Please let me know if this is possible.
