I want to be a filmmaker/director. I currently have a Sony Handicam 8 which I've used a bit but I know that's not up to professional standards. I'd like to know what's a good professional camera that I could get started with and how much $ we're talking about?

Ive been searching for a new camcorder, preferabley DVD, and the most expensieve consumer cameras have 10X optical zoom, while the cheap camcorder have up to 40X optical Zoom. I though the more Opitcal Zoom the better, so why is it like that?

I need a smart advice guys! I want to buy a good professional video camera for the field work. I worked with miniDVs, BETAs, DVCPROs before, but I do not know anything about good models. I'll need it for an interviews, news plots and some wedding works. And of course I want to by the cheapest from the best ones.

I have a firewire port on my pc which i connect my video camera to in order to import video directly from the camera. In the import it drops a number of frames along the way - how do i set it up so that no frames are dropped ?

i have a aiptex HD camcorder and im trying to upload it into the computer but it wont work

then i tried to use capture from video device on windows movie maker but that wont work because it keeps saying "no device was found please make sure a video device is plugged in and try again"

I bought this camcorder and am trying to install its software on my Windows- XP. It just wont. So, I spoke to Sony themselves and they advised me to buy a Sony USB cable VMC-14UMB2 which I have and I still cant install it. Sony offices are closed today. Can anyone help. Cheers.

I want something for my camcorder I just got that can alow me to combine movies together(unless windows movie maker can)add some cool free effects, and stuff like that. Please, I need help. And here is a windows movie maker question.When I import a video on windows movie maker, can I add it as a clip with a jpg right in front of it(like the .jpg is the title and then the video? I want to buy a camcorder however having a tough time deciding. My main use would be normal recording with decent optical zoom....not very much into Hi-Def....and mainly it should work fine with my Mac...i dont want to buy a mini-dv so its just dvd or Hard disk...please tell me which on is better and which model in a decent price range......thanks a lot oh btw i live in toronto..

i have my video camera hooked up to my computer by a usb plug but it does nothing. When i try to open up windows movie maker and hit capture video, it comes up with an error that it doesnt have anything connected or something like that. why doesnt this work/what do i need. i want to put like dumb videos on youtube or something lol

is there any thing like that , to play MiniDV Tape's without the Actualy Camcorder . . i have some MiniDV Tapes and i would like Watch them from my VCD or Computer . so i thought there migth be player without Having to Send the Tapes to somewhere and convert them to DVD which will cost Alot since they are more than one Tape . and without having to buy Camera
