I want to buy a camcorder however having a tough time deciding. My main use would be normal recording with decent optical zoom....not very much into Hi-Def....and mainly it should work fine with my Mac...i dont want to buy a mini-dv so its just dvd or Hard disk...please tell me which on is better and which model in a decent price range......thanks a lot oh btw i live in toronto..

I would recommend a Sony DCR-DVD108. It writes directly onto DVD and has 40x optical zoom, a very high-quality lens. Resolution is not bad either.

I got mine for $390 including delivery to Vancouver from the US on ebay.
