I need help finding a video camera, can anyone help?

I'm going to make an Indie documentary about Marching Band for my Senior Project, and I need to find a video camera that is capable of editing on the computer and that I will be able to add credits and other special effects. Is there such thing? and if so, what is it called, what's the brand and what's the cost?

What I meant by sound was I wanted to add music and other things, (for example when the busses leave for a competition the background music would be "Livin' on the Edge" by Aerosmith,)
