How to pick a good professional video camera?

I need a smart advice guys! I want to buy a good professional video camera for the field work. I worked with miniDVs, BETAs, DVCPROs before, but I do not know anything about good models. I'll need it for an interviews, news plots and some wedding works. And of course I want to by the cheapest from the best ones.

far and away miniDV will be the cheapest. Look at the Canon prosumer line-up is very popular with professionals..
