I have a video camera and want to know if I can record into the computer using the camera without using a disc to record it on first. Essentially, I want to use it like a web cam and record it as well. Can I capture without enabling the record on the camera?

How old is it? Does it still work? Is it fine for what you need it for? What format is it? Battery life and so forth...

My family has had an old Video8 camcorder from '92 in the closet for over 5 years now, but now I just purchased a new HDD camcorder from JVC.

I just bought a new sony dcr sr42 camera. i am about to plug it in to charge for the first time. I am afraid that if i leave it in the outlet too long, i will over charge and hurt the battery.

But basically, is it okay for me to leave it plugged into the wall for a long amount of time?

Ok, I'm pretty upset right now. I'm about to give up.
I have a Sony Super SteadyShot 120x Digital Zoom.
I've been trying to get my pictures on my computer for a while now. It's not working.
I tried to install Picture Package Menu and it's not working. It keeps saying: To run this application, you need to install Macromedia Flash Player first. I am, but it keeps saying that!
Ugh...
please help.

I am putting this on my Christmas list for hubby and wanted to get some input on it first. I know it is cheap but will I get cheap results from it? Is it better or about the same as the Flip digital video camara that is out? I really like the size of it and the fact that it has expandable memory. I am planning on using it for personal use to tape family holidays etc. We are trying to get pregnant and thought it would be perfect to throw in a diaper bag to catch those cute moments. Do you have one and what are the pros and cons or do you know someone that has one? I look at a few customer reviews on Amazon and they range from 1 star to 5 stars (more 5's than 1's). Any info or advice would be helpful. Also where is the best place to buy it at? Thanks for your help!!

I have a JVC mini DV Camcorder Model GR-D270U I need to know if I hook this up to my TV and playback a VHS tape (one that I recorded a home video on) can I record this onto my video camera? I would like to put all my home videos onto DVD and lack the funds to have it done professionally or to buy expensive converters and cords to do it directly from the TV to m Macbook. If anybody can help me out with any suggestions or information that would be great... If my camera will not take input, are there any cheap chords or converters I can use?
PS: I'm not super "techy" so try to keep it in mostly understandable terms (I DO know what DV is)
Thanks so much for the help!

I put a mini DV tape in (that has footage on it) and the camera begins to play, but it shows no image or timecode. All it shows is the play symbol. It does this with all tapes. Is there a way to fix this?

Do you know what is wrong with my camera? It has never done this before.
